From 24 September to 11 October 2020, Pioner Cinema will host the 19th Israeli Film Festival, organized by Pioner together with the Israeli Embassy in Russia. The festival will feature the most interesting new releases in Israeli cinema: dramas, comedies and documentaries that have not seen previous release in Russia.
Every year, films produced in Israel are growing better and more visible around the world, allowing them to receive the most important nominations and awards from international film festivals. An ironic yet caring approach, attention to social injustice, a penchant for reflection and an eternal search for identity: all these features inherent to Israeli cinema have attracted viewers for many years and invariably turn every screening into a unique experience.
All festival screenings will take place in the original language with Russian subtitles.
4 October – “Longing” (dir. Savi Gabizon)
9 October – “Incitement” (dir. Yaron Zilberman)
10 October – “Golden Voices” (dir. Evgeny Ruman)
11 October – “Peaches and Cream” (dir. Gur Bentwich)
After the screening, creative producer of Non-Stop Films and director Sima Orekhanov will discuss how people are starting to make films in Russia and Israel with the audience and the director.
