From 26 to 29 June, all of Pioner Cinema’s locations will host screenings as part of the 38th annual Moscow International Film Festival.

At Summer Pioner in both Gorky Park and Sokolniki Park, audiences will be able to see both the biggest premieres of 2016 and a series of classic films in the open air. In Pioner’s MIFF programme: laureate of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Matt Ross’ “Captain Fantastic;” a new film from the leader of the Romanian New Wave, star of European art house, and Cannes laureate Cristian Mungiu’s “Graduation;” legendary Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski’s new film “11 Minutes;” Ivan Reitman’s classic 80s comic hit “Ghostbusters;” along with one of Carlos Saura’s best works, “Tango.”

As a special event, there will be a gala screening of Grigory Aleksandrov’s legendary Soviet musical “Circus” on 26 June at Summer Pioner in Gorky Park, dedicated to the 80-year anniversary of the film. The film will be presented by fashion historian Aleksandr Vasiliev.

On 28 June, at Pioner on Kutuzovsky Prospect, there will be a screening of a new film by one of the most celebrated directors of Russian cinema, Sergey Solovyov – “Sneakers” – with a personal introduction by the director himself.

All films will be shown in the original language with Russian subtitles.
