Pioner Cinema » Priceless Cities in Cinema. “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society”

On 24 July at Pioner Open Air in Sokolniki Park, we will host the Russian premiere of “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society,” a major historical project from British director Mike Newell. The premiere will be a part of Pioner Cinema and MasterCard’s “Priceless Cities in Cinema.” The reception will begin at 20:30, and the screening will begin at 21:30.

An adaptation of the best-selling book about a young writer from the mid-20th century, who set out in search for an interesting plot and intriguing characters for her new novel, will bring viewers onto the beautiful and mysterious island of Guernsey in the English Channel. An exciting detective story, the secrets of World War II, and British polish amid the picturesque harbors of the island won’t disappoint those who appreciate a distinguished plot. The film features the stars of “Downton Abbey” (Lily James, Matthew Goode, and Jessice Brown Findlay) and “Game of Thrones” (Michiel Huisman).
