Pioner Cinema » Priceless Cities in Cinema. “Promise at Dawn”

On 19 February, as part of Pioner and Mastercard’s “Priceless cities in Cinema” festival, we will host the Russian premiere of “Promise at Dawn” (La promesse de l’aube), starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and Pierre Niney. This is a film adaptation of Romain Gary’s autobiographical novel, which tells the story of a mother’s boundless love. When the future Goncourt Prize winner was still a child, his mother took it into her head that he would become a diplomat, soldier, and world-famous writer. Regardless of how the people around her would laugh, and how her son sometimes doubted his own abilities, she continued to believe in him steadfastly — and all of her wildest dreams came true. A mother’s love and unconditional support carried Romain through all the trials and tribulations of his life, full of secrets, battles, and unbelievable twists and turns.
