On Saturday, 6 September, as part of Moscow City Day, Pioner Open Air at Gorky Park will screen the film «I Am Walking Along Moscow» («Ya shagayu po Moskve»). A lyrical comedy by Georgiy Daneliya, based on the script by Gennadi Shpalikov, starring Nikita Mikhalkov, Aleksei Loktev, Evgeniy Steblov and Galina Polskikh.

Volodya is a mounter from Siberia visiting Moscow – his short story, published in the «Youth» magazine aroused interest of the writer Voronin, who invited Volodya for an important talk. In the subway he becomes acquainted with Kolya, a young sprightly lad who is returning home from a night shift. Volodya is planning to stay at his friends’ place, but he doesn’t know for sure, where the right lane is situated. Kolya offers to show him the way…
One of the most important films of the ‘thaw’ period, which represents the image of Moscow in the summertime and the atmosphere of the 1960s, thanks to the subtle work of the cameraman Vadim Yusov and the music by Andrei Petrov. The song «I Am Walking Along Moscow» became one of the most popular songs of the early 1960s.
The film will be shown in 35 mm print.
