Kate and Jeff Mercer are getting ready to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary. They have been together for so long and have grown so close to each other that it seems they’ve lived their entire lives together. In fact, it turns out to be otherwise. Kate never knew that several years before he met her, Jeff had another girlfriend. During a couple’s trip to the Swiss Alps, she was killed when she fell off a cliff. And now, a week before their big celebration, a letter arrives at the Mercer house to say that her body was found in an icy valley...
The great Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay star in an intimate drama about an elderly couple’s relationship. It received the Silver Bear for Best Actress (Charlotte Rampling) and Best Actor (Tom Courtenay) at the 2015 Berlin International Film Festival.
