What is love? The universe, taking flight, madness, the air we breathe, butterflies in your stomach, insanity, radiance, a jump without a safety net, the wind underneath your wings, a chemical reaction, an obsession, a bolt of lightning? Honestly and maturely, ironically and sharply, bravely and emotionally, the film’s protagonists try to answer this question. Short stories about all manner of things, and yet all about love: a young couple, preferring to live in an imaginary world in the form of anime characters; a secretary, having received an indecent proposal from her boss; a Japanese woman, having arrived in Moscow in pursuit of a Russian man; a graffiti artist in search of the beautiful; a girl, employed by her ex-husband for an unusual task, and many others...
Anna Melikyan’s new film “About Love” is a romantic comedy based on several novellas, in which the protagonists attempt to reply to the eternal question, “what is love?” This year, the film was the star of the Kinotavr festival, winning the Grand Prix and the film distributors’ jury prize.
