As part of this October’s series “At the Cinema, At Last”, Pioner presents Robert Zemeckis’ “Back to the Future” trilogy
“Back to the Future” is one of the most successful trilogies in the history of film and one of the greatest film projects of the 80s. It instantly became a cult classic and collected all the signs of its time — from the first camcorders and electronic gadgets to the analog, now charmingly vintage special effects. It’s a crazy comedy, an ironic fantasy, and a love story all in one, connecting classic storybook Hollywood with the adventure novel traditions of Jules Verne and H. G. Wells. It’s a nostalgic attraction about time travel and the alternate realities waiting around every corner. The duo of Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, starring as the teenager Marty and the genius Doc Brown, a sort of new-age Einstein, remain unmatched to this day, and their homemade time machine continues to inspire concept cars.
