In the grey post-Soviet landscape of 1990s Minsk, young DJ Velya stands out like a bright exotic bird. More than anything else, she dreams of leaving for America, to the homeland of house music. In the fake papers for her visa, she says that she works at a crystal factory in a tiny city, and she has to stay there for several days. Beginning as a comedy of errors, the film quickly turns into a stunningly sincere story about the harsh conflict between two worlds and the desperate grasp for nearly impossible freedom.
The impressive directorial debut of Daria Zhuk, nominated as an Oscar candidate from Belarus.
