A film about the painter Ushio Shinohara and his wife Noriko who live in New York. Ushio creates unusual paintings by punching the canvas or the cardboard with boxing gloves, which he dips in paint before hitting. Noriko has her own art vision. She often disagrees with her husband over his paintings, nevertheless she always supports Ushio. Longing to shed the role of her imperious husband’s assistant, Noriko finds her own destination.
