To continue New Years, Pioner will show one of Tim Burton's best films, the classic "Edward Scissorhands," as part of the January cycle of “At the Cinema, At Last”.
"Edward Scissorhands" (1990) is a stunning winter's tale from the greatest magician in worldwide cinema, Tim Burton. The story of a sensitive Frankenstein with a good heart, whose creator ran out of time to make hands and who was left with giant scissors instead. The reclusive Edward (Johnny Depp) almost never leaves his castle and is afraid of the outside world, where everyone has to be alike. Nevertheless, society finds a use for his miraculous abilities, connected with the lightning-fast and always-perfect cutting of anything at all, from bushes to hair. But nobody is ready to accept the hero entirely, continuing to see in him nothing but a bizarre outsider. Only love, in the form of the young Kim (Winona Ryder), slowly turns Edward's metal scissors into invisible wings, which the entire outside world now wants to cut off.
The film is considered a world classic in the fantasy genre and remains one of Johnny Depp's best roles, who went on to become Burton's signature actor.
