A writer, who won a Pulitzer for his book about raising his young daughter, struggles to handle the tragic death of his wife, and ultimately sends his daughter to live with her aunt and uncle. 25 years later, the grown-up daughter works in social services, trying to overcome her childhood trauma and barriers to interpersonal communication. One day, she meets a fan of her father’s book in a bar, who wants to help her and stand by her side.
