Desmond Doss is an American army private during World War II. For religious reasons, he conscientiously objected to carrying a weapon, and was thus assigned the role of medic. Regardless of his inability to “resist the enemy,” he took part in the most terrible battles of the war, including the Battle of Okinawa, where he saved 75 people and received several serious wounds in the process.
A war drama by Mel Gibson, based on a true story about the WWII veteran and hero Desmond Tom Doss – the first of three conscientious objectors to receive the highest American military honor, the Medal of Honor.
