In November, Pioner is continuing its “At the Cinema, At Last: Real Love” series, beginning with Gaspar Noé’s film “Love,” and will also show two great films about boundless love — Bernardo Bertolucci’s “Last Tango in Paris” and Nagisa Ôshima’s “In the Realm of the Senses.”

“Last Tango in Paris” is one of the most uninhibited films about the war of the sexes — both romantic and tragic, vital and destructive — as well as about the conflict between our emotions and society. This anonymous, fated romance between an American widower (Marlon Brando) and a young Frenchwoman (Maria Schneider), which takes place in a Paris apartment for rent, sent a shock through the viewing public and was banned or partially censored in several countries, including Italy and Portugal. Today, the film plays like a total classic, arriving well ahead of its time and changing the way we describe and understand intimacy in film. The film received two Oscar nominations, for Best Direction and Best Actor (Marlon Brando).

The film will be projected in 35mm in the original audio with Russian subtitles.
