A new programme by the London International Animation Festival (LIAF) will present 13 of the best animated short films from British and international competitions. Among them will be the greatest works of animation from 2014 and 2015, utilizing every different kind of animation technology in use today.
The programme’s biggest premiere will be the 2016 Oscar nominee for Best Animated Film, Don Hertzfeldt’s “World of Tomorrow” – already considered the greatest science fiction film of recent years. It is a bright fantasy on the theme of technology and the life of future generations, seasoned with the filmmaker’s trademark black humour. Alongside narrative films, the LIAF programme will present both “abstract” and “mockumentary” animated films.
