Lulu is a variety performer living in Berlin. She is young, gorgeous and sexy. Everyone falls in love with her – both men and women, but they don’t know what they are risking by yielding to that temptation. Even Lulu herself doesn’t realize what magnetic and at the same time destructive power she has.

«Pandora’s Box» is a masterpiece of German silent cinema and, perhaps, the first film that introduced the new heroine – femme fatale, vamp woman, heartbreaker, bringing death and falling victim of her own sex appeal. Pabst creates that image with the American actress Louise Brooks, who wasn’t afraid to appear relaxed, sensual and vulnerable on the screen. Lulu’s image – with her stylish square haircut and modernist costumes – has become iconic for the history of cinema and influenced a number of characters – from the classic heroines of Marlene Dietrich to Mia performed by Uma Thurman in «Pulp Fiction».
