15th Annual Israeli Film Festival20 years have passed since the murder that shook Israel’s government and halted the peace process. A study of rare documents and audio recordings resulted in a unique film, in which Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin himself tells us about his life: his childhood in Tel Aviv, before the government’s creation; his work on a farm; his service in the Israeli Defense Force; and his later diplomatic and political career. The daily life and private musings of Rabin, famous for his introversion, open up little-known corners of his life and illuminates several turning points in the history of Israel’s government. These unique archive materials – home videos on an 8mm camera, his letters to his family, memoirs untouched by censorship, unofficial interviews, and other personal notes – are presented to audiences for the first time after forty years.
