The first part of a new two-part documentary series by Leonid Parfyonov, dedicated to Georgians in Russian history. Its heroes are military leaders, artists, writers, directors, musicians, choreographers and politicians that have played significant roles in the history of two countries that have historically been intimately connected to each other.
The story begins with the appearance of a Georgian district in Moscow, the convergence of the two peoples and the signing of the Treaty of Georgievsk. The relationship of the two Orthodox churches, the interspersing of Russian and Georgian nobility, and the discovery of Georgia by Pushkin, Griboyedov and Lermontov: Leonid Parfyonov tells about all of this in this first film.
