“School of Life” (L’école buissonnière) is a new work by the master of family movies and world traveler Nicolas Vanier, who also filmed the first part of the famous “Belle and Sebastien” trilogy. Along with young Paul, a city boy, audiences will have to find out what they don’t teach you in school. Specifically, how to live in the real world. That is – if we’re talking about the world of the forest. Here, there is a master (a dark count), the powers that be (a benevolent, but severe warden, Borel), and a poacher, Totoche – a person who’s decided to live outside the law, and an overall suspicious and unpleasant sort. Audiences won’t immediately see the slick bourgeois from “The Intouchables” in this bearded forest shaman. Whose side will Paul take: Borel the respectable warden, or Totoche the poacher? Or maybe the young rebel will become the best friend of the haughty count? Paul’s choice will take him on head-spinning adventures, with the audience following close behind!
