The term “Stockholm syndrome” is well-known to everyone. But Robert Budreau’s film tells the absurd but completely true story of how it came to be. It took place in 1973 in Stockholm, when a robber named Lars broke into a bank and took its employees hostage, demanding that his partner be freed from jail. Negotiations with the police fell apart, hours turned into days in the bank under siege, and Lars begins to concern himself with the comfort and safety of his hostages. His attention fixates on one of them in particular: Bianca. Their relationship began with fear and threats, but turns into a mutual affection and perhaps even…love?
