Spanish actress Macarena Granada runs from Nazi Germany to the United States. Having won the hearts of Hollywood, she returns to Spanish 18 years later in order to play the role of Spanish Queen Isabella I, which she has dreamt of for a long time. In postwar Spain, she meets friends and colleagues from the past and understands that life in her native country is already different from what it used to be.
A comedy by Oscar winner Fernando Trueba, with Penélope Cruz in the main role, which sends up the golden age of Hollywood and the film business as a whole. The film’s world premiere took place at the Berlin Film Festival.
